“Ideas and knowledge are the key to the future” – this is the guiding principle of the STAEDTLER Foundation, which has been supporting the Nuremberg Metropolitan Region for over 20 years. During this time, the charitable foundation has provided funding of more than ten million euros for cultural and research projects.
The connection to Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU) is particularly close: The Foundation funds an annual doctoral thesis award and finances “Deutschlandstipendium” scholarships for outstanding academic achievements and commitment to social projects.
In addition, the STAEDTLER Foundation focuses on promoting particularly innovative research with significant value for society. As part of the “Fostering innovation and knowledge” project, it has been supporting projects in high-profile research fields since 2018 that provide forward-looking impetus for science and society, thereby strengthening FAU’s profile and strategic development. As a reliable partner of FAU, the STAEDTLER Foundation has already made bold investments in emerging and excellent projects, thereby contributing significantly to groundbreaking successes at FAU.
