The Career Service is part of the Student Advice Center at FAU. We provide advice to students and doctoral candidates of our university about working while studying and starting and planning a career. At the same time, we are also the point of contact for FAU graduates up to one year after graduation.\ The Career Service in Nuremberg is responsible for all students at the School of Business, Economics and Society (FAU WiSo).

During individual consultations, we can help you with any questions you may have and give you some advice for the first steps of your career. Our consultations are not restricted to lecture periods.
Events about applying for jobs and starting a career
Each semester we offer events tailored to helping you explore the various options for a career and prepare for starting to work. We invite various experts from different subject areas and employer representatives to give you valuable information and tips for planning your career.
Program of eventsOur comprehensive program, which is free of charge, includes seminars held face-to-face and online about topics such as applying for jobs and starting a career as well as on job-related skills.

Helpful videos on applying for a job in Germany
Whether you are applying for a side job during your studies or preparing your career entry after finishing your studies – you will always need a convincing CV. In the first video, FAU’s Career Service shows you how to create a CV according to German standards. The second video helps you to prepare for a job interview and shows what to typically expect at a job interview in Germany. The third video tells you about the different regulations for working as a non-EU student in Germany during your studies and after finishing your studies.

FAU International Student Servicepoint (ISS)
The ISS on StudOn offers an overview of services available to international students at FAU, organized by study phase and topic. Career Service Information can be found in the “Career & Work” section.
Job portals
Explore the wide range of career opportunities with current vacancies at FAU and external offers for students and those starting out on their career. All vacancies at FAU are published on FAU’s Job Portal. In addition to jobs in research and teaching, it contains vacancies in IT or administration as well as jobs for students. Jobs for students, internships, final theses and jobs for graduates in the region and beyond are published on stellenwerk.de.

FAU’s Career Service is who your company or institution should contact for your recruiting activities. Please contact the Career Service team if you have any questions.
