Habilitation candidates receive academic and organizational support from professors throughout the habilitation procedure.

As a supervisor, one of your duties is to ensure that the habilitation candidate is given enough leeway to carry out their research. As well as providing subject-related expertise and support, you must also be sure to pass on your skills and experience in teaching in an academic setting.

Formalities

Another basic requirement for a successful habilitation procedure is that all formal requirements of the faculty in question are respected and complied with.
