The Austrian Academy of Sciences (OeAW) is a leading organisation for academia and research in Austria. It was established as an academic association in Vienna in 1847 and now has over 750 members and 1300 members of staff. Its goals are to promote an interdisciplinary exchange of knowledge, encourage innovation in basic research, and contribute to advancements in all areas of society.
