Finding an internship

Students are responsible for finding a supervisor for an internship or research stay. International Affairs does not help arrange internships. You can either apply speculatively or in response to an advertised position.

Speculative applications

If you are interested in a certain topic that is covered, for instance, by a certain chair, it is worth getting in touch directly with the chair and asking about the possibility of doing an internship.

Your speculative application should contain the following information:

Your speculative application should not be longer than one A4 page.

Applications for advertised positions

Another way to find an internship is to apply directly for an advertised position. This is quite a good option as many companies in the Erlangen/Nuremberg area advertise internships on a regular basis. There are also various databases you can consult to get information.

Please note that International Affairs can only provide support if you are doing an internship at FAU. If you have found a position at an external company or an external research institute, its human resources department should be your point of contact.
