FAU is a strong research hub, powered by third-party funding: Each year, the University is awarded hundreds of millions of euros in order to carry out pioneering research projects. The result: high potential for innovation, international visibility and prestigious awards. With their specialisms and interests, FAU’s excellent researchers are responsible for this successful research and make a considerable contribution to our extremely varied research environment. The high quality of their research projects forms the basis for interdisciplinary collaboration and successful collaborative research.

## Prizes and awards for FAU researchers

FAU’s success in research is not only reflected in the high amount of third party funding it gains, but also through the prestigious awards and research prizes it receives. These include the Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz-Preis and the Humboldt Professorships. The numerous ERC grants it receives also demonstrate FAU’s strength in research and innovation.
