How is dual enrollment or concurrent enrollment viewed in the application process?

Modified on Thu, 31 Jul, 2025 at 3:44 PM

Dual enrollment is viewed as rigorous in our application review process. We value dual enrollment as much as other rigorous curricula, such as Advanced Placement (AP) or International Baccalaureate (IB).

Please be aware that credit is not awarded for college-level coursework undertaken at other institutions while a student is enrolled in high school or in the summer after high school. Such coursework is considered a part of a student’s preparation for a Penn education. It is used in consultation with the student’s academic advisor to inform decisions about placement into appropriate courses at Penn. More information about pre-college credit is available online.
