Preparing for Your Visit

There are so many ways to learn about Penn! You can follow us on social media, sign up to receive our emails, or even visit us on campus. Whether you’re traveling from across the world or taking a ride on SEPTA, visiting Penn’s campus is a great way to learn more about academic offerings, student life, and narrow down your college search.

The Undergraduate Admissions Visitor Center is located on the Ground Floor of Claudia Cohen Hall at 249 S. 36th St., Philadelphia, PA 19104. We are open from 9:00 am-5:00pm on weekdays, with additional visit opportunities on select Saturdays.

To make the most of your campus visit, please be sure to keep the following recommendations and notices in mind.

Visit Details

Please arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the start of your first visit program to check in at Cohen Hall. If using a GPS, please enter the address 249 South 36th Street, Philadelphia PA, 19104when navigating your way to Cohen Hall.

Outdoor Tour Specifics

The safety of our students and campus community is a top priority at Penn. As part of that effort, most buildings are not open to the public and require key card access for entry. For this reason, all our tours take place outdoors only. For a sneak peek of what our dorms, classrooms, and facilities look like, we encourage you to explore our virtual tour, visit our YouTube page, and follow us on Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook.

Tours proceed rain or shine and run for approximately one hour and 15 minutes. Please dress accordingly and wear comfortable walking shoes. We ask that all visitors remain with the group for the duration of the tour, which concludes back at the Visitor's Center. In the event of inclement weather—such as thunderstorms, heat advisories, or ice and snow—a student panel is offered as an alternative.

Please note, tours are only conducted in English.

Accessibility

We look forward to welcoming you to Penn’s campus and aim to support your needs during your visit. Please contact info@admissions.upenn.edu or reply to your confirmation email to share more about any accommodations you may need.

Getting to the Visitor's Center

Visitors should enter the Undergraduate Admissions Visitor center from the east, ground floor entrance which faces the open Penn Commons and the Penn Shield. If you are approaching from 36th street, please be advised the entrance is on the opposite side of the building.

For those requiring wheelchair accessibility, we recommend entering via 36th St. and Spruce Street.

Parking

Penn's urban location can make parking difficult to navigate. We recommend arriving anywhere from 15-20 minutes before your scheduled programing to find parking. Penn does not validate parking, but metered street parking may be available. If you choose to take advantage of metered street parking, please closely read all street parking signs. Where possible, we encourage taking public transit or ridesharing.

All these stops will leave you within walking distance of the Undergraduate Admissions Visitor Center. To plan your route, visit SEPTA's website.
