No Enrollment Deposits!
That’s right! There are no enrollment deposits at Penn. That means all you have to do to secure your spot in the class of 2030 is... accept our offer of admission!
Are you a newly admitted Quaker? Congratulations! You’re probably eager to start planning your new life at Penn—and believe us, we can’t wait to see you on campus! The good news is you’ve got time.
Your Admitted Student Portal is the best place to check if there are any tasks you need to complete. Below, we’ve provided an overview of what happens between your admission and New Student Orientation.

Upon Admission
Once you’ve been admitted, there’s one important thing you need to do: accept your spot in the class! Then it’s time to connect, celebrate, and start learning about even more that’s available to you here. Here's where to start:
- Accept your offer of admission through your portal
- Register for admitted student events
- Connect with your classmates, current students, faculty, and staff through the Penn Admitted Student Network
- Keep up your good grades!
If applicable to you:
- If you are not a citizen nor a permanent resident of the U.S., begin applying for your visa as soon as possible
- If you applied for Financial Aid, review your Financial Aid Package
- If you self-reported test scores as part of your application, submit official testing:

April is all about soaking up knowledge about Penn. Take advantage of the many virtual and in-person events we’ll offer. You can also start thinking about where you might want to live, and what communities you may want to be a part of.
- Attend the Admitted Student Events that interest you
- Learn more about our College Houses, Program Communities, and Academic Communities

That’s right: some of the things you might want to get started on now won’t happen until May or June. Don’t worry, you will be prompted to complete the following tasks through your portal and email once they are available.
- Create your PennKey
- Create your official Penn email account
- Submit your Housing Application and rank your College House preferences
- Set up Penn.Pay for student account billing
If applicable to you:
- Set up an appointment with the Weingarten Center for any necessary housing or academic accommodations

Now it really starts to get real! This is when you’ll start to put together what living and learning at Penn looks like for you. And again, we’ll let you know when it’s time for these tasks!
- Choose your Dining Plan in Campus Express
- Register for classes
- View your housing assignment in Campus Express
- Submit your photo for your PennCard in Campus Express
- Plan your travel to campus!
If applicable to you:
- Make sure your final transcript and official test scores (SAT/ACT, English Proficiency Test Scores) have been sent to us.
July
You’re almost set for your first semester! These are probably the tasks that your family and/or supporters most want to know about. Student Registration & Financial Services (SRFS) provides an overview of Penn’s billing schedule; you’ll also be notified by email and through Penn’s online billing system, Penn.Pay, when your bill is available.
- Set up payment plan or pay your bill through SRFS
- Fall semester bill available
- Select your move-in arrival date and time

It’s time! You’ve done all the work and now it’s time to meet your new friends and get acclimated to Penn.
- Move in to your new home!
- Join New Student Orientation
