As one of Penn’s six cultural resource centers within University Life, the Penn Women’s Center’s mission is to advance gender justice for the entire Penn community through an intersectional framework that embraces all identities. The Center achieves this by advocating, fostering community, facilitating learning, mentoring, and providing support.

The Penn Women’s Center (PWC) is one of the nation’s oldest women’s centers with over 50 years of notable history. The Center offers the perfect space for women, female-identified persons, and feminists of all genders to study, relax, host meetings, and workshops or team up for civic engagement projects.

Members of Penn's Women SPEAK organization—a young women's empowerment initiative that empowers women to cultivate positive body image, deconstruct gendered media stereotypes, establish healthy relationships, and be leaders of change in their communities.

Throughout the year, the Center welcomes writers, activists, artists, and political and professional leaders who advocate for and bring awareness to topics such as reproductive justice, workplace equity, men and masculinities, and an end to sexual violence, discrimination, and harassment. In addition, the Center offers a variety of services like advocacy, advising, refuge, counseling, company, tea, and confidential options counseling.

The Penn Women’s Center also partners with student groups to host conferences, training, and workshops. Major sponsored events include the Penn Monologues, the OWN IT summit, Penn Women’s Week, and Take Back the Night.
