The committee aids in creating a community spirit among the members through organizing events and social functions. This committee was established to serve one of our three core principles: community building. The University for Seniors’ Social Committee:
- Prepares the quarterly calendar of functions/events/off term trips.
- Plans and coordinates approved functions/events/off term trips.
- Ensures a balance in the variety of activities (social, cultural, community engagement etc…)
- Handles all logistics pertaining to all committee activities
- The UfS members sitting on the Social Committee take turns in acting as Trip Coordinator on the off-term trips.
- Meets on quarterly basis to plan upcoming events and then as need arises to plan specific events.
