The Faculty of Engineering is one of the two core faculties at Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP), bringing together a vibrant community of students, educators, researchers, and industry practitioners. Established on 1st April 2011, the Faculty is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of engineering leaders and advancing the University's vision of becoming at the forefront of technology education and research, enabling a better future.
Departments
The Faculty is structured into six dynamic departments:
- Department of Chemical Engineering
- Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering
- Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering
- Department of Integrated Engineering
- Department of Mechanical Engineering
- Department of Petroleum Engineering
All academic programmes under the Faculty are accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Council (EAC), ensuring adherence to high standards in engineering education and professional practice.
As the largest faculty within UTP, the Faculty of Engineering currently serves over 3,721 undergraduate students from more than 51 countries. With a strong academic team of over 200 staff members, the Faculty is committed to delivering excellence in both teaching and research.
The Faculty has received international recognition, ranked among the world’s top 200 universities for Engineering and Technology by the QS World University Rankings by Subject. It also holds strong rankings in specialised fields such as Petroleum Engineering and Chemical Engineering.
To ensure academic quality and operational efficiency, the Faculty has established its own governing body—the Engineering Faculty Academic Committee (EFAC)—which oversees academic matters and examinations.
