Overview

Zenia Taluja is a first-year doctoral student in the Department of Anthropology at Cornell University. Her research interests are situated at the intersection of medical and environmental anthropology, and science and technology studies.

At Cornell, she will explore the discourses around zoonotic diseases and the interventions resulting from these discourses that target human nonhuman collectivities, specifically in the context of India’s One Health agenda.

Prior to Cornell, Zenia was working in the development sector as a research and evaluation practitioner, focussing on health, gender, and evidence-based policymaking. She has experience in designing and implementing research projects and mixed-methods evaluations while specializing in qualitative and participatory methodologies. She has worked with a range of clients like the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, World Food Programme, UNICEF, University of Cape Town, Johns Hopkins University, and state governments in India.

Zenia holds an MA in Anthropology of Development and Social Transformation from the University of Sussex, UK, and a BA (with Honours) in Sociology from Delhi University, India.
