## About us

The Centre for Batteries, Electric Vehicles and Electronics is a research centre within the School of Engineering, Computing, and Mathematics at Oxford Brookes University.

The centre's focus is on developing novel solutions to problems within the energy storage and future of transport fields. This includes:

- multi-scale numerical modelling
- high power battery pack design
- electrochemical testing of lithium-ion batteries
- optimal control research for battery management and high-voltage powertrain systems.

The centre has a state-of-the-art electrification laboratory for automotive, motorsport and second-life applications and is actively expanding its capabilities to include future electrification fields.

## Motorsport Battery Research Symposium

**February 2025 at Oxford Brookes University**

The Motorsport Battery Research Symposium aimed to share the use of our battery testing data, and for battery research communities and Formula Student teams to share good practice. The event included talks on automotive battery research, high-performance electric vehicles, and the future of motorsport engineering.

Formula Student and early career researcher attendees were also invited to participate in the [Battery Testing Consortium Research Poster Competition](https://www.brookes.ac.uk/research/units/tde/centres/batteries-electric-vehicles-and-electronics/symposium/competition).
