Stand out from the crowd
Through BrookesEDGE, you can take part in a wide range of activities outside your studies, to make the most of your time at university and stand out in the job market.
BrookesEDGE is a co-curricular scheme run by Oxford Brookes University and Brookes Union.
BrookesEDGE competencies
Through taking part in a BrookesEDGE activity, you will develop one or more BrookesEDGE competencies. These follow the UNESCO Key Competencies for Sustainability, as critical competencies for living, working and contributing to society in the current age. These are:
- Systems thinking competency
- Strategic competency
- Critical thinking competency
- Futures thinking competency
- Integrated problem-solving competency
- Collaboration competency
- Normative competency
- Self-awareness competency
