Apps for research projects

Apps – short for applications – are programs that are designed to be run entirely within a web browser or on a mobile platform. Unlike desktop applications, apps are lightweight in terms of computing (but not functionality) easy to install, easy to combine, and usually easier to use.

Apps can be easier to design and build than larger-scale applications. Some researchers are turning to app design to get ahead.

We have the skills and experience to help and support you through the process, right from concept and design through to delivery, support and reporting. We can also help guide you through any necessary legal, financial or ethical processes.

Developing your own research app

Before embarking on having an App developed please explore existing apps thoroughly. The increasing availability of apps and the ease with which they can be developed means there is often already something that will do what you need. Please consider the following:
