Programme description
The master's programme ‘Asian and African Economies and International Economic Relations (with Asian/African Language Tuition)’ is aimed at: developing in students a holistic understanding of the economic characteristics of Asian/African countries; studying the issues in economic growth, investment, international trade and financial systems in Asia and Africa; understanding the processes of globalisation of the world economy, labour migration mechanisms and their impact on state and social policy; and developing the ability to analyse critically economic relations using a systematic approach. Students also study in depth one or more Asian/African languages.

Its collection includes: more than 300,000 volumes of scientific, educational, fiction and periodical literature in all target languages; a collection of ancient manuscripts and xylographica; and rare and unique books and lithographs

- Sergei Kurbanov, Doctor of History, Professor in the Department of Korean Studies; expert in the history, culture and ethnography of Korea; author of over 130 scholarly publications. He has participated in numerous academic forums in Russia and abroad
- Nikolai Samoilov, Doctor of History, Professor in the Department of Theory of Social Development of Asian and African Countries; expert in the history of China and China-Russia relations
