Programme description

The programme is aimed at comprehensive and high-quality training of academic staff in the following areas:

- Theoretical problems of the origin and development of the plant kingdom, its diversity, classification and nomenclature of different groups of plants and plant communities
- Study of the structure of plant bodies, their growth and development, principles of their vital activity, and adaptation to the environmental conditions; Study of the composition and structure of plant communities in order to manage their productivity and create artificial communities with specified useful properties
- Theoretical and applied problems of geographical distribution, zoning and mapping of vegetation cover as one of the renewable natural resources
- Theoretical and applied problems of using plants for practical purposes: medicinal, food, technical, fodder, ameliorative and landscaping to name just a few; Fundamentals of acclimatisation and introduction of plants into culture, scientific foundations of indication and monitoring of the natural environment and vegetation cover
