Our advantages

- There is an opportunity to build an individual educational path
- The interdisciplinary master’s programme ‘Fundamental and Applied Aspects of Nanomaterials and Nanotechnologies’ is designed to train academic, teaching and innovative staff for the development of high-tech sectors of the economy that combine in-depth fundamental knowledge with a broad scientific horizon and a comprehensive understanding of the main problems in the field of nanosystems, nanomaterials and nanotechnology.
- The training programme includes the fundamental aspects and application of nanoscience, nanomaterials and nanotechnology in materials mechanics, physics, chemistry, materials science, and technology
- The curriculum of the programme provides for the acquisition of knowledge in: business communications; economic and legal foundations and management of developing technological solutions; and business English. All these will make it possible for graduates to manage research projects at all stages: from application to introduction of developed products and technologies into production
- The programme provides for the solution of major interdisciplinary problems at the intersection of areas of study and different branches of knowledge. It takes into account the knowledge of various sciences to get an idea about the object under study. The programme trains highly qualified specialists to solve multivariate tasks, taking into account the needs of employers
- During training, students have an opportunity to access the cutting-edge equipment located in the resource centres of the St Petersburg University Research Park. This makes it possible for them to master modern methods of research within the chosen topic of their graduation projects
- Work on their graduation projects includes: conducting independent experimental and theoretical research activities supervised by highly qualified scientists; preparing papers for publication in Russian and foreign journals; participation in the implementation of work supported by grants of various levels (from municipal to international ones); and filing patent applications for their achievements
- There is an opportunity to do an internship at employers’ organisations that are University’s partners
