The programme is designed for: applicants with bachelor’s degrees who have a basic education in mathematics, mechanics, applied mathematics, physics, engineering; and specialists working in the above fields and specialising in mechanics and mathematical modelling.

- The training programme provides a fundamental education in mathematics, mechanics and computer science. It makes it possible to acquire the scientific methods of mechanical and mathematical modelling of physical processes
- An outstanding team of lecturers and researchers provides training in: all areas of modern mechanics; as well as interdisciplinary areas at the intersection of chemistry, physics, biology, computational mathematics and other sciences
- The research and teaching staff of the programme implements challenging advanced projects in: the mechanics of thin-walled structures; the dynamics of spacecrafts; rotor dynamics; biomechanics; experimental aerodynamics; and physical and chemical gas dynamics. They are also engaged in studies of: multilayer nanotubes; properties of shape memory materials; and strongly nonequilibrium processes in the mechanics of heterogeneous and structured media. Existing scientific schools give students an opportunity to be actively engaged in research

- Students work at unique experimental facilities in our own laboratories. A combination of theoretical and experimental approaches makes it possible for students to comprehensively study the most complex problems of mechanics
- Students master applied programmes for solving problems of theoretical mechanics, hydroaeromechanics and elasticity theory (ANSYS, FLUENT, etc.). They also build their own algorithms and develop programmes for specific problems of modern mechanics using the most advanced computer technology
- Students have an opportunity to: carry out research supported by grants for the academic staff; take part in contests of youth projects; and make presentations at international conferences
