Guidelines for the access to the SPBU Research Park
The resource centres are essential constituents of research infrastructure (the Research Park) at St. Petersburg State University. The first centres were established as long ago as 2010, and since then creation of the new ones has never ended. The centres possess unique cutting-edge equipment that enables innovations in research and educational programs. They generate intellectual and creative potential of the University, fuel SPbU’s scientific and technological development, and foster its socio-economic growth. The resource centres contribute to the goals of SPbU Strategic Plan 2020 aimed at making SPbU one of the world’s leading classical universities and providing academic and scientific support of the state policy of Russia’s innovative development.
The outstanding intellectual and academic environment of the oldest Russian university serves the basis for the 22 resource centres that are now an integral part of the SPbU Research Park. The centres employ the experience, knowledge and research achievements of the previous generations. Each center covers a research area related to one of the four priority spheres which define the common strategy of the University’s research.
SPbU resource centres
Biomedicine and Human Health
#### Centre for Culture Collection of Microorganisms
The Centre for Culture Collection of Microorganisms (CCM) provides equipment and skilled staff for maintenance of living cultures of eukaryotic microorganisms, cyanobacteria and small aquatic invertebrates.
#### Centre for Molecular and Cell Technologies
All instrumental and intellectual resources of the centre are focused at the implementation of a complex approach in the study of various living objects and biosystems on the cellular, subcellular and molecular levels.
The Bio-Bank Center has an ultramodern equipment for the implementation of its main activities (biobanking, genomics and proteomics).
#### Centre for Diagnostics of Functional Materials for Medicine, Pharmacology and Nanoelectronics
The SPbU analytical Centre for Diagnostics of Functional Materials for Medicine, Pharmacology and Nanoelectronics is mainly focused on diagnostics and studies of new functional materials for medicine and medical technology, pharmacology, acoustoelectronics and microelectronics.
The Chromas Core Facility is focused on innovative research projects in cellular biology, molecular and population genetics, developmental biology, microbiology an biomedicine.
#### The Center of Medical Accreditations
Resource educational center of high medical technologies "The center of medical accreditations" is a complex which has facilities for scientific and educational activities in the field “Biomedicine and human health” and facilities to carry out medical activity using advanced medical technologies.
Nanotechnology and Materials Science
#### Centre for Innovative Technologies of Composite Nanomaterials
The SPbU Centre for Innovative Technologies of Composite Nanomaterials was created in 2012 to provide technological support of investigations in the field of materials science. Our equipment can be used for synthesis of thin films, dispersed, ceramic, polymeric and other composite materials and for research of their physical and chemical properties.
#### Magnetic Resonance Research Centre
The SPbU Magnetic Resonance Research Centre provides access to its equipment and offers the practical experience of its engineers, thus enabling one to carry out research projects based on NMR (nuclear magnetic resonance), NQR (nuclear quadrupole resonance), and EPR (electron paramagnetic resonance) spectroscopy, as well as on magnetic resonance microimaging.
#### Interdisciplinary Resource Centre for Nanotechnology
The Interdisciplinary Resource Centre for Nanotechnology possesses unique scientific equipment for research and training and can be used by SPbU teachers and research fellows.
#### Chemical Analysis and Materials Research Centre
#### Centre for Nanofabrication of Photoactive Materials
#### Resource Centre “Neutron Physics – Neutron Research”
Resource Centre “Neutron Physics – Neutron Research” accepts applications to carry out research on structure and materials properties and offers a wide range of neutron diffraction techniques.
#### Physics Educational Centre
#### Centre for Optical and Laser Materials Research
#### Centre for X-ray Diffraction Studies
#### Centre for Thermogravimetric and Calorimetric Research
#### Centre for Physical Methods of Surface Investigation
#### Centre for Extreme States of Materials and Constructions
#### Centre for Microscopy and Microanalysis
Ecology and Nature Management
#### Centre for Geo-Environmental Research and Modelling (GEOMODEL)
#### Environmental Safety Observatory
