- Based on the experimental base of the Petersburg Nuclear Physics Institute, National Research Center "Kurchatov Institute", Gatchina, Leningrad region, the resources centre carries out fundamental, exploratory and applied research and pilot projects. For over 50 years now, the Petersburg Nuclear Physics Institute is rich in history of condensed matter physics.

Resource Centre “Neutron Physics – Neutron Research” accepts applications to carry out research on structure and materials properties and offers a wide range of neutron diffraction techniques:

- neutron powder diffraction;
- single-crystal neutron diffraction;
- small angle neutron scattering;
- neutron reflectometry.

The resource centre collaborates with the world’s neutron centres: [ILL](http://www.ill.eu/) -Institut Laue-Langevin, [CEA SACLAY](http://ipht.cea.fr/) -Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy Commission in Saclay Nuclear Research Centre (France), [MLZ](http://www.mlz-garching.de/englisch) (The Heinz Maier-Leibnitz Zentrum Center), [JCNS](http://www.fz-juelich.de/)- Jülich Centre for Neutron Science (Germany), and [JINR](http://www.jinr.ru/main-en/) – Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (Россия) to name but a few.

The resource centre offers capabilities to carry out research in the neutron centres abroad and provides research and methodological support prior, during and after experiments.
