- "What we focused on was disputed controversial issues. We had intense debate. From the very first years at the University, he has taken an avid interest in the subject of responsibility and justice. Such contemplation formed his ideology, frame of mind," — Vadim Prokhorov, Professor in the Department of Criminal Law at the Faculty of Law and Honorary Professor at St. Petersburg State University ("What I see is a man committed to his work...")
- "Right here before our eyes, the transformation of Russia's oldest university has taken place—an institution with colossal traditions, the tremendous ambitions of its faculty, and a long-established system of relationships... On one hand, I greatly admire the newly created system and wish to incorporate many elements from it. On the other hand, I simply take my hat off to how the University's leadership and entire team have accomplished their mission. This giant tanker has already changed course and is clearly sailing in the right direction," — Alexander Kuleshov, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Doctor of Technical Sciences, and Rector of the Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology.
