It was a morning dedicated to debate and discussion that saw students, technicians and politicians examine the issue of the referendum scheduled for March 22 and 23, 2026 at the Federico II.

The event was organized by theUniversity's Law Students Association, which found great support from the Legal Department's management and the University in order to ensure a moment of in-depth discussion.

Two packed lecture halls, Pessina and Cicala, and a table made up of policymakers and technicians.

Opening the meeting were the greetings of Federico II Rector Matteo Lorito and Law Department Director Carla Masi Doria, Frederick II Professor of Criminal Law and Lawyer Vincenzo Maiello and Magistrate at the Court of Cassation, former member of the CSM, Francesco Cananzi spoke. The political class was represented by the Honorable Giuseppe Conte on one side and the Honorable Gennaro Sangiuliano on the other. With them were Law Students Association President Diomira Molinini and Lawyer Aldo Saggiomo, who moderated the event.

"I have to thank first and foremost the Law students who wanted to organize such an important debate," stressed Rector Lorito. "I am happy, because it is often said that there is a lack of participation in the university and that there is a lack of interest in politics and in what are the big decisions, today's is the response of Federico II and Naples. The meeting put together the political and social perception aspect of the referendum with the technical aspects, there was a great balance. The debate had an extraordinary timing, we all came out enriched, whatever our personal positions. We confronted each other, and that is a great value of democracy."
