##### Deadlines for Contractors
As established by Article 1, paragraphs 209-214 of [Law No. 244/2007](http://www.normattiva.it/uri-res/N2Ls?urn:nir:stato:legge:2007-12-24;244!vig=) and subsequent amendments (Finance Act 2008), Italian legislation introduced — in the interest of simplifying the invoicing process in transactions with public administrations — the obligation to issue, transmit, store, and archive invoices in electronic form. The subsequent Implementing Regulations, enacted by [Ministerial Decree No. 55 of April 3, 2013](http://www.normattiva.it/uri-res/N2Ls?urn:nir:ministero.economia.e.finanze:decreto:2013-04-03;55!vig=) (hereinafter: DM/55), made these obligations operational, setting 6 June 6 2015 as the start date for the use of electronic invoicing in dealings with public bodies. This date was later brought forward to **31 March 2015** by Article 25, paragraph 1 of [Decree-Law No. 66/2014](http://www.normattiva.it/uri-res/N2Ls?urn:nir:stato:decreto.legge:2014-04-24;66!vig=), converted into [Law No. 89 of 23 June 2014.](http://www.normattiva.it/uri-res/N2Ls?urn:nir:stato:legge:2014-06-23;89!vig=) The FatturaPA standard is defined in the technical specifications set out in the aforementioned DM/55.
