Below is a general guide on steps to study abroad through AUC. Many of the steps below can be completed at the same time.

1. Attend a study abroad information session. \
2. Reflect on your goals and why you want to study abroad.\
3. Meet with your academic advisor to learn about your degree requirements. \
4. Explore study abroad program [**options**](https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1FwfBHQN79PZdIuBFPVF8Uz7QwuAE78_Q09tfiWgc8gw/edit?gid=1339879801#gid=1339879801). \
5. Schedule an [**appointment**](https://auc-connect.aucegypt.edu/meetings/300214674/Studyabroadadvising) with AUC’s study abroad adviser. \
6. Fill out the exchange/direct enrollment study abroad online application for each cycle. You will receive an email from the Office of International Programs and Services (IPSO) with the link to the application.\
7. Confirm your placement once you receive the final decision from the Office of International Programs and Services (IPSO).\
8. Once nominated to your host university, apply and complete the needed documents as per their [**dates and deadlines**](https://www.aucegypt.edu/academics/study-abroad/apply/#deadlines).\
9. Start [**financial planning**](https://www.aucegypt.edu/financing-your-study-abroad). \
10. Check [**transfer guidelines**](https://www3.aucegypt.edu/sso/Transfer_Guidelines.pdf)\
11. Apply for your student visa and issue/renew your passport if necessary.\
12. Attend the required [**pre-departure orientation**](https://www.aucegypt.edu/apply-study-abroad). \
13. Travel to your host country. Experience its culture and more.  \
14. [**Return to AUC**](https://www.aucegypt.edu/academics/study-abroad/return-to-auc). Give back by sharing your experience with other AUC students.
