The University Student Residences offers guest accommodation to the AUC community and the families of full-time residents. Accommodation is also available to individuals and groups attending conferences, workshops or affiliated with AUC. Whether you are visiting our campus, conducting research or attending a concert, we make it our number one priority to provide you with the best possible accommodation services during your stay with us.

Room Reservation Request

To reserve an overnight guest room, send an email to reslife@aucegypt.edu at least 48 hours prior to the intended check-in and during official working hours (8:30 am to 4:00 pm, Sunday to Thursday) to ensure receiving a timely booking confirmation. You will need to include your name, ID number, gender, check-in and out dates in the email.

*Bookings are confirmed upon availability.

Policies and Regulations

• Check-in:Guests may check-in at any time after 2 pm. The reception desk is open 24 hours for late arrivals.
• Check-out:Guests may depart prior to 12 pm. Late check-out requests must be submitted and approved through the housing office.
• Cancelation Policy:Cancelations 24 hours prior to the arrival date are free of charge. For cancelations later than that, or in the case of no-show, 100 percent of the first night will be charged.
• Availability: Both residences are available for reservations during official opening times. The student residences are closed from late July to late August for annual renovations and during the first two weeks of fall and spring for the arrival of full-time residents.
• Children:Children under the age of 18 are not allowed to spend nights at the student residences. Siblings aged 16-17 are permitted with parental permission.  Parents may email reslife@aucegypt.edu with proof of guardianship.
• Pets: Pets are not permitted at the AUC residences.
• Smoking: The American University in Cairo is a smoke-free environment. Smoking is not permitted at the student residences.

Room Rates

Room rates are expressed in US dollars, however, you may pay in Egyptian pounds as per the exchange rate set by the University.

• Single Room: US dollar rate - $40/night
• Premium Double Room: US dollar rate - $32/night
• Double Room: US dollar rate - $27/night
