About the Office

The American University in Cairo (AUC) is committed to the highest standards of academic integrity. The Office of Academic Integrity (AIC) supports AUC’s commitment by constantly reaffirming its value in all forums of interaction at the university, involving students, faculty, administrators, staff, and parents.

Mission

The mission of the academic integrity office is to increase awareness of academic integrity policies and procedures among all AUC stakeholders; students, faculty, and staff. The office aims at overseeing an efficient process of adjudication and at remaining current in the area of academic integrity and ethics at institutions of higher education.

Services

• Serves as the main point of contact for all academic integrity-related matters at AUC
• Assists in the implementation of all policy changes
• Raises awareness of academic integrity issues to all stakeholders through planned activities
• Ensures fair and efficient adjudication of all cases submitted to the Academic Integrity Committee
• Manages sanction workshops/focus groups/orientation lectures related to academic integrity
• Oversees student compliance with sanctions
• Responsible for keeping track of academic integrity (AI) statistics and for providing reports analyzing Al data
• Responsible for developing and managing content for the academic integrity website
