# Qualification Docs

The Graduate Centre (GraCe) offers around 40 courses and workshops per semester in German and English to provide doctoral candidates transdisciplinary further qualifications. The courses teach core competencies and transferable skills in five areas:

- Management, Leadership & Mental Health
- Communication & Presentation
- Orientation & Career Planning
- Research Practise & Teaching Qualification
- Language Courses

These courses are open to accepted doctoral candidates at the University of Freiburg and may be attended free of charge. Please note that the qualification programme is not available for doctoral candidates of the medical faculty (Dr. med./Dr. med. dent.). Registration for workshops and courses takes place via HISinOne. Please log in with your user ID (employee or student) and then switch to the role ‘doctoral candidate’ to register for courses.

Besides, the [Department of Equality, Diversity and Academic Staff Development](https://gdape.uni-freiburg.de/academic-personnel-development/mentoring?set_language=en) offers a central mentoring programme for doctoral candidates and postdocs called [AdvanceMent Freiburg](https://gdape.uni-freiburg.de/academic-personnel-development/mentoring?set_language=en). The department is also responsible for the [Learning & Development programme](https://uni-freiburg.de/gdape-en/card/learning-and-development/), the qualification programme for postdocs including junior and tenure-track professors.
