You can apply and enrol for different types of education at UT.

If you pursue a full-time bachelor's, pre-master's, or master's programme, you can enrol during specific intake moments. See more information below.

How to get enrolled?

To enrol in a bachelor's, master's, or pre-master's programme, make sure you meet these requirements:

Finalise your enrolment by 31 August for the September intake or 31 January for the February intake. You can cancel your enrolment free of charge before 1 September or 1 February (except for the application and/or visa fee). After that, de-enrolment incurs costs.

If you have not (yet) paid your tuition fees, you will not be officially enrolled at UT.

Pre-master's

It is not possible to apply directly for a pre-master's programme. You need to apply for the master's programme of your choice through Studielink. UT will take your application under consideration and will then proceed to transfer it to a pre-master's programme in case you are not directly eligible for a master's programme. In some cases, you might receive a rejection of your application, please be aware this rejection is valid for both master's and pre-master's programmes. Students currently pursuing a Dutch bachelor's degree, can apply for a transfer minor via the Kies Op Maat (see below).

Payment as a pre-master's

Instead of tuition fees, you pay an amount per EC. After application and admission, the programme determines the total number of ECs for your pre-master's. If you stop your pre-master's you cannot come back to complete this pre-master's. You will not be refunded in case you terminate your enrolment prematurely. Enrolling in a pre-master's in addition to enrolling as a full-time student for a master’s programme exempts you from the pre-master's amount. You only pay the tuition fees for the master's programme.

Only with the permission of the Head of Student Affairs & Services (SAS), you can be enrolled at other intake moments during the year because of force majeure and special circumstances.

Too late with handing in your enrolment papers in time?

When you have failed to hand in your enrolment papers complete and on time, this may have the following consequences:

Kies op Maat (transfer minor)
