Have you decided to sign up for the Bachelor’s programme Communication Science at the University of Twente? Check the admission requirements below to be sure that your application will succeed. You can sign up for Communication Science via Studielink.
What diploma did you get?
International diploma
You are admissible if you have an international secondary school diploma equivalent to the Dutch vwo diploma. For example:
- Belgium’s Diploma van Secundair Onderwijs
- International or European Baccalaureate.

German Abitur
Have you completed your final exams in Germany and do you hold the Abitur? Then you are generally eligible for admission. Check the admission requirements for this Bachelor's programme.
Dutch Diploma (VWO)
If you have a Dutch vwo diploma, you can be admitted to the Bachelor's programme. All profiles are accepted.
Dutch HBO-diploma
A Bachelor's degree or first-year certificate (propedeuse) from a Dutch university of applied sciences (hbo) also gives you access to the Bachelor's programme. It is an advantage if you have studied mathematics at vwo level, including statistics. If you haven't, we recommend taking a mathematics course to help you prepare as well as possible for the programme.
Level of English
As the programme is entirely taught in English, you must meet the English language requirements. The specific requirements depend on your previous education. Please check the language requirements for international students. For Dutch students, English at vwo level is sufficient.
