Do you want to start the Bachelor’s in Psychology at the University of Twente? There are two tracks to choose from: the Dutch track, where matching is compulsory, and the fully English track, which has a numerus fixus (a limited number of places). Each track has its own application deadlines and procedures.

Choose the track that suits you below to go directly to the relevant information:

Apply for the English track

Do you want to start the English track of Psychology in September 2026? Make sure you apply via Studielink by 15 January 2026, because applications after this date will not be accepted. This track has a numerus fixus, which means there are only 250 places available, so you will need to take part in a selection procedure.

Application steps for numerus fixus track:

  1. Apply via Studielink application

Period: 1 October 2025 - 15 January 2026 (23:59 CET).After 15 January, you can no longer apply.

How to apply:

Useful tips:

Deadline: 15 January 2026

After submitting your application in Studielink, you’ll receive an email from us with a link to OSIRIS. This is where you upload your additional documents.

Important:

Period: February - March 2026

Once you’ve applied on time and received (conditional) admission, in the first week of February you will be invited to take part in our selection procedure. The results will help both you and us assess whether this programme is a good fit for you, and determine your ranking number.

The selection consists of three parts:

Component Weight in final score Deadline / Date
Online matching assignment 20% Submit before 2 March 2026 09:00 CET
Online Psychology test 40% 13 March 2026
Online Methods & Statistics test 40% 13 March 2026

What to expect:

Good to know:

Ranking numbers published: 15 April 2026

Based on your results, you will receive a ranking number in Studielink on 15 April.

251 or higher You are placed on the waiting list. You may still be offered a place until 15 August 2026.

Apply for the Dutch track

Do you want to start the Dutch track of Psychology in September 2026? Make sure you apply via Studielink by 30 April 2026 and upload all the required documents. Since 1 October 2025, this track has a mandatory matching procedure instead of a numerus fixus. We think it is important that you choose a programme that really suits you. During the matching activities, you will explore whether the programme fits your expectations, interests, and talents. Participation is mandatory: if you don’t take part, you cannot enrol and will not be able to start the programme.

Steps for mandatory matching procedure:

\

  1. Apply via Studielink

Period: 1 October 2025 – 30 April 2026 (23:59 CET).After 30 April, you can no longer apply.

How to apply:

Useful tips:

Deadline: 30 April 2026

After submitting your application in Studielink, you’ll receive an email from us with a link to OSIRIS. This is where you upload your additional documents.

Important:

The mandatory matching procedure consists of two parts: a questionnaire and a matching activity. This helps you find out whether Psychology is the right programme for you and whether your expectations match what we offer.

1. Questionnaire\ Beforehand, you complete an online questionnaire about your motivation and expectations. This helps you think carefully about why you have chosen Psychology. In the questionnaire, you also select a date for your matching activity.

2. Matching activity\ The matching activity takes place on campus and lasts an afternoon. You will meet teachers and future fellow students, get a feel for the atmosphere, and learn more about the programme. We will also discuss (anonymously) the expectations students have. After your application, you will receive more information and preparation materials by email, so make sure you register on time.

You can register for one of the following dates:

Dates matchingsactiviteit Location Registration deadline
16 April 2026 Campus Universiteit Twente To be announced
2 June 2026 Campus Universiteit Twente To be announced

Advice\ Shortly after taking part in the matching procedure (questionnaire + matching activity), you will receive advice from us about your match with the programme. This advice is non-binding, which means you decide for yourself whether to continue your application, regardless of whether the advice is positive or negative.

Timeline\ You have completed the mandatory matching procedure when you have:

  1. completed and submitted the questionnaire,
  2. actively taken part in a matching activity, and
  3. received our advice.

  4. Finalise application

After receiving the non-binding advice, you can complete your enrolment. To do so, you must upload the required documents (as described in our admission requirements) before the specified deadlines.

You are officially enrolled only when:

You will receive emails from the UT student administration. Follow all instructions carefully to finalise your enrolment before the start of the academic year.
