Result

In this advanced beginners course participants extend their basic knowledge of Dutch (reaching CEF-level A2). Participants receive a certificate of attendance after completion.

Content

The course consists of group tuition. It covers reading, listening, writing and speaking. Participants will also learn more about Dutch culture and society and an excursion to the Rijksmuseum Twenthe.

Translated in terms of the Common European Framework for modern foreign languages (CEF), this means that at the end of this course, participants:

You will be evaluated based on a portfolio, which you have to complete by the end of the course. The portfolio consists of listening and reading tests, writing assignments, a practical speaking exercise outside of class and a spoken exam in the final lesson. If the result is satisfactory, you will be able to enrol in the A2/B1 course.

Admission criteria

Admission is granted on the basis of certificates obtained from earlier Dutch A1 language courses or an intake exam, which can be found in the following link: NT2 intake exam. Knowledge of English (language of instruction) with an approximate level of B1 is required.

DISC-A2-2026 - Programme is for

all (prospective) UT students, PhD-candidates, employees (and their partners) who would like to learn Dutch. Also non-UT participants are very welcome to join the course. - ECTS

1. UT bachelor and master’s students: €25,-.\ This is a NON-REFUNDABLE and NOT TRANSFERABLE administration fee, payable at registration. \ Faculties will pay the full course fee for you. \ 2. UT-employees: €625,-\ Faculties and Service departments will pay for you.\ You need permissions from your head of department. \ 3. Partners of UT-employees: €625,-\ 4. Non-UT participants: €812,50\ Partners and non-UT participants can use internet payment to pay the course fee. - Maximum participants
