Cal Day – Saturday, April 18, 2026

Join us for our annual admitted student event where the UC Berkeley community welcomes newly admitted students and families.

The day will begin with a central welcome at California Memorial Stadium, followed by opportunities to explore academic departments, campus resources, student life, and the UC Berkeley community.

Newly admitted students will register through their admitted student portal and will receive detailed instructions via email once their offer of admissions has been received.

Highlights from Cal Day 2025

Newly admitted students and their families are invited to kick off the day with a special welcome at California Memorial Stadium.

Attendees will hear from campus leadership, including the Chancellor Rich Lyons and senior enrollment leaders, along with ASUC President Abigail Verino. The program will also feature student performances and a celebration of the newest members of the Berkeley community.

Student performances will begin as early as 8:30 a.m., and the official program will begin at 9:00 a.m. - 2. College Sessions

Each undergraduate college will host a dedicated welcome session for newly admitted students and their families. These sessions are designed to introduce students to the academic community they will be joining, including college leadership, advising teams, faculty, and current students. College Sessions also provide space for families and students to ask questions and begin envisioning their Berkeley journey within their specific academic home.

Information Zones provide opportunities to engage with academic departments, research programs, campus resources, support services, and student organizations across campus.

Students and families will have the opportunity to connect directly with representatives and explore the breadth of opportunities available at Berkeley. - 4. Campus Tours

Student campus ambassadors will lead walking tours throughout the day, offering insights into Berkeley traditions, student life, history, and the overall student experience. - 5. The Blue Carpet

The Blue Carpet celebrates newly admitted students as VIP guests.

Clear Bag Policy

Please note that both California Memorial Stadium and Haas Pavilion enforce a clear bag policy for entry. Guests are encouraged to review venue guidelines prior to arrival to ensure a smooth check-in process. Additional details will be shared with registered attendees closer to the event.
