## Berkeley’s Excellence
22 Nobel Laureates (7 current). 32 MacArthur Fellows. 77 Fulbright Scholars. 357 Guggenheim Fellows. 125 Sloan Fellows. 4 Pulitzer Prize winners. But beyond the numbers, Berkeley’s faculty members are among the most accessible at a premier university: They designate time to help students outside of class, aid students with research, and are even accessible in certain residence halls through the Resident Faculty Program.
### Quick Facts

### Resident Faculty Program
How would you like to call a professor your neighbor? At UC Berkeley, a handful of our distinguished faculty actually live among students in the residence halls through the [Resident Faculty Program](https://reslife.berkeley.edu/academics/resident-faculty-program). They hold weekly office hours for drop in visits, provide informal advising, and also fun activities and trips for the students in their resident communities.
### Student Interaction with Campus Faculty and Staff
- 64% sought academic help from an instructor or tutor
- 67% talked with an instructor outside of class about course material
- 35% worked with a faculty member on a campus activity other than coursework (e.g., student organization, campus committee, cultural activity)
