## What is Google Chat?

Google Chat is a modern communications application that makes it easy for teams to collaborate in an organized way. Chat offers both 1:1 instant messaging and chat [rooms](https://support.google.com/hangoutschat/answer/7653861?co=GENIE.Platform%3DDesktop&hl=en) for ongoing and long-term conversations. Schedule meetings, create tasks, or get updates from your team right within Chat using [bots](https://support.google.com/a/users/answer/9308942?hl=en&ref_topic=9326422) to help speed up workflows.
