SafeZone - our on-campus safety app
SafeZone is a free app for Deakin University students and staff that connects you directly to security services (24 hours a day). It's there for emergencies, but also for the times you just need some help. It might be an escort back to your car or assistance for those with a disability.
With the app you can:
- send your name and location directly to security during an emergency
- ask for first aid or assistance
- request a security guard to escort you somewhere on campus
- see where the Deakin shuttle buses are currently located
- get safety tips and information relevant to your current location
- receive important notifications from Deakin security.
We encourage you to download SafeZone for your Apple or Androiddevice and register with your Deakin email address.
Safer Community service
Safer Community is a University-wide service aimed at keeping all campuses safe. We respond to all reports of behaviour that is concerning, inappropriate or threatening, and offer support to all parties involved.
If you’ve witnessed or experienced behaviour or communication from someone that has caused you fear, offence or distress, you can contact the Safer Community service for help and advice.
We're happy to talk to staff, students and visitors and we evaluate all incidents and communication.
Deakin has zero tolerance to any form of sexual assault or violence.
