## Donation Event “Help for Ukraine” on December 10, 2022
The student initiative UniBonn.UA and the International Office invite you to a pre-Christmas donation event. On Saturday there will be Ukrainian pastries, merchandise products, a quiz as well as live music.
All collected donations will be transferred to orphanages for disabled children in the Kharkiv region to buy energy generators. The initiative already gathered close to €5,400 for humanitarian projects.
Place and time: Poppelsdorfer Allee, level with Argelanderstraße, 12:00 - 04:30 pm

### Support for Science in Times of War “Cologne/Bonn Academy in Exile” founded
The Universities of Cologne and Bonn have joined forces to support researchers from Ukraine affected by the war. The newly founded academy also welcomes researchers from Russia and Belarus who are being persecuted for standing up against the military action. The academy’s work mainly focuses on European integration and promoting knowledge about the affected region.

### Libraries, Children and Literature in Ukraine—in Times of War and Peace
Two librarians and a publisher from Ukraine have been reporting on their experiences in a discussion held at the University of Bonn, organized by the Bonn University and State Library (USL) together with RWTH Aachen University.

### Singing Human Chain: “Give Peace a Chance!”
Some 2,500 people took a stand for peace via a singing human chain called for by the International Choir and the General Student’s Committee (AStA) of the University of Bonn. Starting at the University, the chain wound its way to the United Nations Campus.

**Verwendungszweck: „Hilfe Ukraine“**

Die Universitätsgesellschaft Bonn e.V. ist nach § 5 Abs. 1 Nr. 9 des Körperschaftsteuergesetzes von der Körperschaftsteuer und nach § 3 Nr. 6 des Gewerbesteuergesetzes von der Gewerbesteuer befreit. Eine Spendenbescheinigung wird ab einer Spendenhöhe von 300 € ausgestellt. Kleinere Summen können über den „vereinfachten Nachweis“, z B. Buchungsbestätigung auf dem Überweisungsträger, beim Finanzamt geltend gemacht werden.
