Prof. Dr. Ralf Pude holds the professorship for Renewable Resources and heads the Klein-Altendorf campus.

As a new member of the Bioeconomy Council of North Rhine-Westphalia, Professor Ralf Pude's passion is to promote the faster implementation of new solutions. Unfortunately, he often feels that this does not happen quickly enough when new products are developed from renewable raw materials. Pude is looking forward to working with his university colleague Prof. Dr. Monika Hartmann, because she is an expert in marketing.

Miscanthus
Professor Pude is an expert on miscanthus, also known as Chinese silver grass. This versatile and perennial plant grows so rapidly that it will be almost four meters tall by harvest time, having bound 30 tons of CO2. If miscanthus is now also used as a building material, the effect of CO2 savings will continue in urban development. Prof. Pude believes this is a topic that is worth pursuing in the long term.
