Marcel Hövels

Dr. Marcel Hövels is a postdoc at the Institute of Microbiology and Biotechnology at the University of Bonn and co-founder of Sweethoven Biotech. The researcher developed his prototype as part of a team. As an entrepreneur, he will definitely be in demand again as a team player. Hövels and his colleague André Neff, with whom he founded the company, say, along with all other founders: We are Uni Bonn.

Bringing sweetness to life

It looks like sugar, it tastes like sugar, but what Marcel Hövels and his colleagues, with the support of the University of Bonn, have now created is not sugar, but a sweet fiber. Marcel Hövels: "The enacom team helped me gain clarity about the potential of our idea. Then it became clear that we wanted to start a company."

The team counts

Hövels and his colleagues André Neff, Jorge de Heuvel, and Jannick Dülberg won the University of Bonn's ideas competition for their idea for an alternative sweetener. They are now excited to develop the first prototype with funding from the prototyping grant.\ The founding of their company Sweethoven Biotech2is imminent.
