Professor Dr. Maren Bennewitz is the Vice Rector for Digitalization and Information Management and is therefore responsible for the process of digitalization at the University. As Chair of the Board of Directors of the Digital Science Center (DiCe), she coordinates the joint work of the faculties and central organizational units on the University’s digital strategy and concrete digitalization projects. Establishing a central infrastructure for high performance computing is one of the priorities for her term of office.
Strategy
A digital strategy cannot exist in isolation, but instead lives on the complexity of the activities taking place in institutes, faculties and central organizational units. We want to collect, pool and coordinate these activities. We created the Digital Science Center (DiCe) for this purpose, a strategic center that uses a participatory approach, close networking of department representatives at all hierarchical levels and a focus on a common, strategically oriented organization of work to react flexibly in response to constantly changing conditions.

DiCe – Digital Science Center
The Digital Science Center (DiCe) is a central organizational unit of the University of Bonn that is responsible for the development, continuous improvement and implementation of a comprehensive digital strategy at the University of Bonn.\ \ A digital society creates new opportunities and challenges for research, teaching and knowledge transfer at the University of Bonn. New areas for action and future-oriented change processes have opened up in many places. DiCe coordinates activities within the University, identifies synergies and acts as a network and point of contact for all stakeholders.
SID - Information and Data Security Unit
The Information and Data Security Unit advises the Rectorate and the various institutions of the University of Bonn on information and IT security and data protection issues.\ Its objectives include the continuous improvement of information security, the development and improvement of an information management system and the training of employees in IT security-related topics.\ The Data Protection Officer is the contact person for all questions regarding the handling of personal data at the University of Bonn.
