Frequently asked questions
How do I confirm my acceptance into my program?
You will be confirmed as a participant in the program once you have paid your admission deposit.
I've paid my deposit, so why won't the system let me register for my courses?
Fees payments are not immediately reflected in the student portal. It takes two to five business days to process payment before you will be able to register.
What will happen once my official transcript has been received?
Once your official transcripts are received, they will be removed from your to-do list in your Student Centre. Having outstanding transcripts on your to-do list will not impact your ability to initialize your registration or register for courses in your first year. Please ensure your official documents are submitted as soon as possible, as eventually, a hold will appear on your account for these documents preventing future registration in courses once you've started the program.
How do I activate my UCalgary account?
Set up your UCalgary email and update your contact information in your Student Centre. Learn more about UCalgary IT resources here.
How do I initialize my registration?
Once you have paid your admissions deposit, and you've set up your UCalgary account, you can initialize registration.
How do I register?
You will be able to register for your courses through your Student Centre. You can view your program courses here.

The GSA is the voice of University of Calgary graduate students at the UCalgary and to all levels of government. The GSA supports UCalgary graduate students to succeed academically and socially through valued programs and services and responsive communication channels.

The Graduate Students' Association (GSA) of the University of Calgary was established in 1967 to represent graduate students at the University of Calgary. Currently, the GSA serves over 8,000 Master's and PhD students.
