About the FGA
Foothills Graduate Association (FGA) represents a large and diverse body of graduate students based at or affiliated with the Foothills Campus. The FGA functions as a consortium of 15 Departmental Graduate Associations (DGAs) and 6 Research Institute Trainee Associations (RITAs), coming together monthly to share updates, voice concerns, and coordinate campus-wide initiatives relevant to the Foothills graduate student community.
DGA/RITAs select and send a representative to the monthly FGA Council Meetings, to ensure concerns are addressed at departmental or program-level meetings, or with institute directors and administrative leads. Graduate students are also encouraged to attend, or to reach out to their respective DGAs or RITAs. Lastly, FGA representatives regularly highlight positive developments and achievements from their programs, and often coordinate recognition, events, and awards.

Nabil Royez
Nabil is committed to overseeing and working collaboratively alongside DGAs and RITAs. He advocates for graduate students by addressing concerns and improving the overall experience on the Foothills campus.

Vice-President
Jaya Bansal
Jaya supports the president and FGA subcommittees. She helps coordinate DGA/RITA projects and ensures smooth execution of events for graduate students.

VP Finance
Mackenzie Hancock
Mackenzie oversees FGA’s finances and budgeting. He works with the executive team to fund and support student initiatives and events.
VP Communications
Meriem Aroua
Meriem shares important updates with FGA students about events, deadlines, and opportunities. She also works closely with DGAs/RITAs to promote engagement and collaboration.

Omoseni Idowu
Omoseni focuses on building awareness and inclusivity through events and advocacy. He works to ensure all voices are heard and supported in the academic environment.

Madeline advocates for student wellness through events that promote community and support. She aims to make wellness resources more accessible and visible.

Olivia is passionate about creating inclusive mental health initiatives for graduate students. She collaborates on programming that builds community and supports student well-being.
