Program overview
The Master of Kinesiology (MKin) is a course-based graduate program designed for students looking to develop advanced knowledge and practical skills in exercise physiology. This program prepares graduates for careers in health and wellness, chronic disease management, occupational evaluation, and high-performance sport through applied learning and real-world experience.
This program provides advanced training in exercise testing and prescription that can prepare students to pursue the Canadian Society for Exercise Physiology’s Certified Exercise Physiologist (CSEP-CEP) exam.
Completing this program
- Courses: Topics include integrative and clinical exercise physiology, fitness testing, training strategies, nutrition, sport psychology.
- Capstone: A self-directed project where students apply advanced knowledge to address a practical challenge in exercise science.
- Practical Experience: The program includes hands-on learning and practicum placements to apply skills in professional settings.

Admission requirements
GPA
A minimum of 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 point system, over the past two years of full-time study (a minimum of 10 full-course equivalents or 60 units) of the undergraduate degree.
Minimum education
A four-year baccalaureate degree with a minimum grade of "B" or 3.00 in each of the following undergraduate prerequisite courses (or equivalents): Anatomy, Exercise Physiology, and Statistics.

(Optional) A CV with demonstrated ability to be self-motivated and capable of independent study as shown in undergraduate studies, volunteer work and/or work experience in exercise science areas will be considered.
