## Is VSR program right for me?

From the [University Calendar, G.A.3](https://calendar.ucalgary.ca/pages/ba47dec92b684e36bdc4ba5c0070cf7e#:~:text=per%2Dcourse%20basis.-,Visiting%20Students,-A%20student%20who):

*A student who is registered in a graduate degree program at another university that does not have an exchange agreement with the University of Calgary, and who wishes to engage in research at the graduate level at the University of Calgary for credit at their home university, may be admitted as a visiting graduate student.*

- Visiting graduate students are normally permitted to spend a maximum of one year at UCalgary.

It is strongly recommended that VSRs start the application for admission process at least **4 months** in advance of when they hope to travel to Canada.
