## Prairie Regional Research Data Centre (RDC) for Stats Canada
Analysts at the Centre for Health Informatics support data inquiries and analyses using Statistics Canada data, available through the Prairie Regional Research Data Centre (RDC) located in the Taylor Family Digital Library (TDFL room 542) at the University of Calgary. As part of the Canadian Research Data Centre Network, the RDC provides researchers secure access to a wide range of Statistics Canada’s confidential microdata, including social, economic, and health surveys, Census, and administrative files, fostering opportunities for multidisciplinary research across various fields.

## Requesting Data
If a research study utilizes or involves AHS resources, it is recommended that the research team have early dialogue with the a member of the AHS Health Systems Access (HSA) team to discuss database selection. It is helpful for the research team to have the following information on hand:
1. A description of the research question in lay language
2. Inclusion and exclusion criteria
3. Number of subjects needed and timeframe for study activities
If the research study requires data extraction services and the research team is unsure of how to source the data contact research.administration@ahs.ca.
