## Generous Funding Package
Our funding package is one the most generous among the Canadian business schools. We provide $135,000 over 5 years. In addition, we pay full tuition for all PhD students. We also support each student with additional grants and cover academic conferences to encourage students to present their research and build their networks.

The Haskayne PhD program is customized to fit your needs through a flexible, innovative and student-oriented approach including, the possibility of cross-disciplinary programs. This program will allow you to work with some of the best management scholars in the world, build your student support network and develop the research and teaching skills necessary to assume positions with major universities in Canada, the United States and around the world.
## Format and Timing
*Theory Development* and *Research Development* (also known as the Summer Research Project, taken in the spring and summer of the first year)are two of the courses required by all students as well as a minimum of 12 half-course equivalents. In addition, students will choose five field courses in major and minor areas, based on their interests and suggestions from the supervisor. Five research methods and statistics courses are chosen from one of two streams:
**Stream A** is founded on economics and mathematics and includes courses in econometrics and optimization.\
\
**Stream B** is behavior-oriented and includes courses in multivariate analysis and qualitative methods.
After completing course work, students write their Field of Study, defend their dissertation proposal, fulfill their two-course teaching requirement and complete their dissertation. While recent graduates have completed their program in four years, typically students take five years to finish.
