# Acreditación CNA

The National Accreditation Council -CNA- has the mission to lead the development and conceptual enrichment of the National Accreditation System, through the elaboration of theoretical documents and guidelines, in close collaboration with the academic and scientific communities of the country.

Among its objectives is to promote the accreditation processes of higher education programs and institutions, provide support and training to promote the consolidation and permanent strengthening of excellence, develop guidelines for the accreditation of the various modalities of higher education programs and institutions, and strengthen institutional self-evaluation as a permanent and strategic activity that allows the identification of strengths and opportunities for improvement of academic programs.

Universidad de los Andes is the only private university in the country whose accreditation has been renewed for the maximum possible period - ten years - by the Ministry of National Education, through resolution 582 of January 9, 2015.

As of December 2019, 8 of the 9 undergraduate programs offered by the School of Engineering have current high quality accreditation, while 1 is in process. At the postgraduate level, 3 master's degree programs and the Doctorate in Engineering have high quality accreditation in force.
