Career and guidance counseling will help you effectively understand and explore yourself, and better understand the labor market and world of work to make informed career decisions. It also provides the tools and skills to confront and overcome challenge that might accrue. Career counseling is a means to help you learn more about your skills and abilities which will help you in achieving the most successful career.

If you are uncertain or undecided about your academic major, or are considering a transfer from one major to another, the center will provide you with the opportunity to learn more about various academic disciplines that are in line with your interests and future aspirations through formal and informal assessments [Tamheed](http://qauni.tamheed.org/ "Tamheed")).

The career psychometric assessment known as "Tamheed" which is based on professional counseling session in the Career Development Center at the University of Qatar is considered as the process of assessing individual abilities and inclinations as well as personal qualities and talents they possess. 'This assessment is available through the [Tamheed website](http://qauni.tamheed.org/ "Tamheed website")  in Arabic and English languages. Students can get a number of their own accountthey can access to conduct this assessment. Thus each student gets on his report, upon the results the student get consulted through a career advising session which enables students to choose the best career path that suits their abilities and interests.

Tips:

- advised to sit down in a quiet place to take the test away from the provinces; also it is preferred that mobile phone is put on silent mode and stay away from any sources of noise or other distractions. To finish answering the test it could take almost a half an hour maximum, so it is recommended to ensure the availability of this amount of time to conduct the test.
- After the completion of the test, please send your assessment testing and code consisting of a series of numbers and letters alphabet and then copy the code and send it via email from the university e-mail by mentioning student's name and specialization and the contact number to be reached with to this e-mail: [ccs@qu.edu.qa](mailto:ccs@qu.edu.qa "ccs@qu.edu.qa")

You will be fully able to explore the world of work through:

- 1:1 individual sessions to help you understand the nature of your future career as well as update you on Qatari labor market needs and trends.
- A series of site visits and career trips in coordination with a wide range of employers, to closely observe the real work environment and learn from the practices and experiences provided.
- Job shadowing days to visit an organization and act as a (shadowee) with a professional employee/s during the performance of their duties throughout the day.
