International prospective students, who do not hold a valid residence permit in the state of Qatar (excluding GCC
citizens), must belong to one of the following categories to be considered for admission to QU:

- **Graduate Studies Applicants (Master & PhD):** Currently, there are no scholarships
  available for graduate applicants (Master & PhD). They must apply online for a [student visa](https://www.qu.edu.qa/en-us/students/international-students/students-visa/prospective-students) from
  Qatar University and upload the [required documents](https://www.qu.edu.qa/en-us/students/international-students/students-visa/prospective-students)
  within the graduate international applicants' [admission timeline](https://www.qu.edu.qa/en-us/students/international-students/important-dates).
- **Self-funded Students:** International prospective students (Undergraduate/Arabic for Non-native
  Speakers) who are applying to study at their own expense must apply online for a [student
  visa](https://www.qu.edu.qa/en-us/students/international-students/students-visa/prospective-students) from Qatar University and submit the [required
  documents](https://www.qu.edu.qa/en-us/students/international-students/students-visa/prospective-students) within the same [admission period](https://www.qu.edu.qa/en-us/students/international-students/important-dates) as other
  international students.
- **Scholarship Applicants (Undergraduate only):** International prospective students applying for
  QU academic scholarships and planning to study at Qatar University only upon obtaining a [scholarship](https://www.qu.edu.qa/en-us/students/admission/scholarships)provided by Qatar University, do not need to fill out and complete the visa application. The Scholarships
  and International Admissions Section will arrange for a student visa for those awarded a QU scholarship.

**Note:** The admission application from an international prospective student will not be considered
unless they apply within one of the aforementioned categories.

The Scholarships and International Admissions Section will facilitate the issuance of student visas for admitted
international students who have applied for a visa, met the visa requirements, or received a QU scholarship.
